Advice Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok long story short I took home a 330ci last night from an acura dealership.

2002 330ci manual with 30k miles, sport, power seats on both sides, sun roof, 6 cd changer, extremely clean with local bmw dealership history.

So I am driving about two hours ago with a buddy of mine and all the sudden a loud hissing noise comes from the front driver side... Tire issue...

I pull over and start pulling my trunk apart getting the spare and looking for the jack. No jack is found. A buddy comes with a jack. I start to inspect the spare and find its flat. OK no problem... fill it up, well as I fill it up it starts leaking from the valve stem. I go say a bunch of four letter words

and go to look at the wheel/tire that went flat.

Fill it up with air to find that the leak came from the valve stem... So now I have a car that I bought yesterday night, that I detailed today sitting in a parking lot with a bad valve stem on the driver front tire, bad valve stem on the spare, and no jack.

I structured the deal where I can back out within seven days if there is any major issues. It also gives me a chance to get the car inspected beyond there dealership inspection, in detail to make sure no other major issues are present. The question is not if I can back out of the deal, but what does the dealer need to do in order prevent me from returning the car? What does the dealer need to do to make it right considering this is a major safety hazard. On the way back home I'm thinking... What would have happened if I was doing 65+ on the freeway, that made me feel really conferable about the situation... hahah

I don't understand what you're asking. You don't want the dealer to take back the car, and you're wondering what they can do instead?

BTW, that sucks.

I think he means what can the dealer say/do to avoid taking the car back.
IMO, I'd say that not being fully inspected warrants a "major issue" and start there. If they sassed back, then throw out the "If I were going XX mph" scenario. In the end, it depends on how fine the fine print is.

I mean if I work with them on the issue what is reasonable? BTW it needs new tires in the next couple months.
Or do I saw screw it and return it?

Well, I would certainly talk to them and see what they were willing to do. Is this a generally good dealer? They should definitely inspect it, and if any other potential trouble spots are found, you should probably return the car, as nice as it is. On the other hand, if they can get it fixed at no charge...

I don't mean to be too passive on this, but if the price was right on the car, you knew it needed tires and are happy with it otherwise, I'd just get them all replaced and be done with it. Most shops install new stems with the tires, solving the problem, and it's an expense you knew you were going to have to pay for anyway.

The jack is another concern. Didn't you notice that it was missing when you personally inspected the car, along with the flat spare? I'm not trying to beat you up on this, I ain't no used car dealer either, but I use to pick up and deliver used cars from all over the country. Mercedes, Porsche and Jags mainly. Most used cars are sold "as is" unless you make concessions with the dealer before taking delivery. I've had dealers replace the whole set of tires before I'd accept a car. I would at least get them to replace the missing jack.

Still, it's a beautiful car DipnX5. Looks like a keeper to me!

That is a nice looking car...it's hard to find a 330Ci. There are a bunch of 328 and 325 but, a 330Ci is a pretty good find. Just go to Costco and get new tires all around. I would get the dealer to put on another tire and get it inspected. Good luck and that's a nice color.

1st Mod - Get rid of those orange reflectors
2nd Mod - M3 Steering wheel (but, that can wait)
3rd Mod - upgrade to wheels (BBS CH or Velocity V710) 18 or 19x8.5 with the 8.5 all around you don't need to roll your fenders
4th Mod - Mtech2 or M3 Front/rear bumpers

Just a few suggestions...if you decide to keep the ride

I doubt the stlr "inspection" was more than the usual; even a
very intensive inspection may not have found a bad valve stem,
which is pretty rare, in my 46 years of rolling down the road.

Do you like/love the car and is it a great deal for you?
If so, have the stem swapped and see if you can cop something
else from that Stlr, for the "pain" you suffered.
S#!% happens, esp. with tires...

Take it back to the dealer. Tell them you want a new tire and to have them put it on. Tell them you want a thorough inspection of the vehicle and get what they did in writing. They should do all of this for you, especially since you just got it that day...Question, Did you know there was no jack when you bought it?

I had no idea it was missing a jack and had a faulty spare tire.
