![]() So the next question is, "IF" Knuckles does get into a fight with another dog, how is that collar going to effect the outcome.. It's a weapon... One dog has the weapon, the other doesn't.. And any person who tries to tell me that a Pit Bull needs a weapon for protection is just a, ____________ (I'll let you fill in the blank with whatever words you think belong... Cause none of the words I'm thinking about are very nice.)

Everytime anyone says "Knuckles" it reminds me of this little Japanese video game character from when I was young I used to play with. Preconception is a scary thing...
![]() Sonic & Knuckles anyone? ![]() BTW, look at the character's knuckles. You couldn't have named your dog better, along with the collar!!

Not trying to stoke the flames but here's something out of the paper today:
http://www.lvrj.com/news/28441889.html "PIT BULL ATTACK: Baby killed by dogs identified" Two pit bull dogs were in the back yard of a house. They "burst" in through the screen door and began attacking a 4 year old girl who was in a stroller. The girl's grandmother grabbed the girl and ran into another room where the dogs forced their way into the room and continued attacking both the girl and the grandmother. Excerpt: "She took the baby and tried to escape to a different room in the house. But the dogs forced their way into the room, police said. When officers arrived, they found the two dogs with blood on their fur acting aggressively toward them. Police shot and killed the dogs. The baby's body was on a bedroom floor. "This is about as severe an attack as I've seen in my 18 years in North Las Vegas," Animal Control officer Dale Smock said last week. The attack was so brutal that officers and medical personnel who responded are being offered counseling, police said." As I said before, people will have their reasons for being afraid of these large, strong sometimes uncontrollable animals. No matter what argument anyone makes about how "nice" their pitt bull is, because of stories like this, they will have a bad rap (I personally think it's a well deserved rap). You will NEVER hear of a Pomerenian, Sheltie, etc. breaking through multiple doors and repeatedly attack and kill their human owners - PERIOD. Is it the dog's fault or the owner's fault? I don't give a sh*t - the fact is many loved children have been taken from this earth too soon because of these animals!

And I'd like to echo, no one gives a sh*t if it's the dogs fault or the owners fault. It's moot. The kid is dead at the teeth of a Pit Bull who broke through walls to do so. When deaths like this become COMMON with other breeds, I'll vote to design legislation that includes those breeds as well. Every year I give to charity. I try to make as nice a contribution as I can afford. This year, my donations are going towards BSL groups. I'm sick of little kids dying because Knuckles or Killer has such a sweet face and was temperament tested.

Oh and BTW - when I was 10 years old, we took in a stray cat who had kittens the next day. My mom let me keep one, and I promptly named it "Harley". I did indeed put a spike collar on Harley as well, so from time to time I think it's humorous indeed
.However, a 4 pound kitten is probably a little less intimidating than a dog who weighs more than a lot of people!

Considering the context under which this news has shown, is there a fund setup for the family? Maybe a few of us can put a little something in.
