HaulAzzRoadTrip in the Vette...

TheBoss & I made a fling-ourselves-to-Detroit-and-back,
last Fri noon through Sunday afternoon. We had to go up
to the ol'MotorCity for my Fave Aunt's funeral. She was
like a 2nd Mom to me, so I had to go...

NEway, we ripped off 1360 miles in the '02 VetteVert,
and spent 22 hours in the car, all total.

It still runs like a top and eats up the highway miles,
while giving us a overall average of 28.7 mpg, with
A/C or Defrost on 90% of the time, some serious
speeds and, some stop and go slogging around the
gloomy Motorcity.

On one stretch we got nearly 32 mpg.

It rained buckets, (ie 10" in Northern OH and MI), all
day Saturday, but the Vette never blinked, though
I did get a small leak in the driver side window where
it meets the Vert top.

Good to go for my closure and support my knucklehead
cousins and their fams...

We saw this gang of Model A Ford nuts at a motel where
we cooped on the way; the pics suck, as it was nearly
dark, pouring rain and shooting at f2 is not my usual style.

Helluva car; maybe the best I've ever owned as it does
so many things so well...the ad for Vettes is over, .
BR,
mD&V

Nice Vette. My father has a 1999 C5 (with 33000 miles) with a 6 speed gearbox. That thing is a blast to drive.

Thanks, ours is an '02, 6 Spd, Z51 with 31K. It too is an amazing
car, imo. And, more boring pics; some are repeats, but I like'em!

For some reason, domestic automakers really to gear their cars this way (very tall). I don't really understand why, except perhaps for good EPA testing numbers.

So what was the average consumption like, how many litres?

Fav Uncle,
I'm sorry to hear of your loss and hope you all are doing ok.

Sounds like the vette is still humming along like a champ. Still looks new. I'm sure it was good to get out and stretch it's legs to motor city.

Cool pics.

Sorry to hear about your Aunt, mD

The vvert looks awesome. A friend in Seattle had a ton of problems with his C5 so I'm glad to hear that you got a solid one.

How'd you end up in that couples tourney a few weeks back?
