Thumbs up Just when I need to stop spending money (NEW MACBOOKS)

new macbook and macbook pro.

http://www.apple.com/macbook/
http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

They're all aluminum, and all have backlit keyboards (which I miss from my old powerbook immensely)
The only downside is no firewire on the macbook, and only FW800 on the pro, which sucks, but thats just going to force me to upgrade my DV camera to one with HDD and USB, which totally sucks

Store is still "down".
Joy to the education discount

Wow...

Looks pretty cool..

My current PowerMac was bought in 2003. I think it's almost time to upgrade.

I'll most likely be getting a 13" Macbook.

Macs are great. I have a powerbook titanium that I have taken back and forth to work every day for about 7 years. Plugging in and unplugging and it has never failed.

You can never chase Apple products otherwise you'll never buy. We all know that they have new stuff coming out more regularly than any other tech manufacturer and it is frustrating but you've just got to go with it. Just think of the first iPhone buyers who got screwed on price then watched as the 3G came out at a cheaper price. That's Apple for you.

I got my BlackBook less than a year ago and got it after they bumped up from 2.0 to 2.2 and then about a month later they bumped it up to 2.4GHz. Oh well.

Umm, no we don't They are usually laggards, technology-wise and your options are limited. Recent example: want Blu-ray?... oops!

Design-wise they do well which is nice as long as you don't mind frying your lap when their engineers f*ck up their board design.
