Early Voting in HillbillyHeaven, NC...

I did the Early Vote thing on Friday morning. We have 2 locations in our
county for this. Took less than 10 minutes from walking in to walking out,
and that was with the 5 page electronic/touch screen ballot to peruse through.

A poll volunteer that I know from our regular polling place, (the Waynesville,NC Library),
told me he's been a volunteer for 30+ years and has never seen turnout here like this.
Their hope is to have ~25% "early vote" done when that closed this eve; he predicts
Tuesday will be a zoo.

The unusual thing, but legal here in NC, is that no one is asked for
any kind of photo ID or, any fookin ID. They simply ask your full
name & mailing address; you sign the claim form, get in line, the poll person plugs
in the data from your form, and you hit the touch screen buttons and vote.

NEway, glad to vote here in the US of A, but all the idiots on my ballot will spend
way more than we send them.

I wrote in myself and some of my buds from here on the board...

No early voting here in the Empire State I'm planning on being there when the polls open at 6am on Tuesday. I hope there aren't many early birds.

Talk about convenient! I walked in the school, the woman asked me for my name and address, and showed me the screen. I walked out 6 minutes later - done. I saw on the news today, a 10 hour waiting average in Atlanta...WTF?!

Forget about the presidential ticket, this Kay vs. Liddy thing is getting HOT!

They give the kids a day off from school here to use them for polling.
Back home, they just closed the gym for the day.

Absentee Ballots are abound here... Unfortunately, there isn't much on them that is worthwhile, other than which candidate is gonna be easier to boot, or to pass a local referendum, elbowing walmart outta town. 5 bucks says online voting is in our near future, especially since the Socialist States of America will soon be issuing national credentials to all com-- citizens.

Wish that the folks in ATL could get the Early Voting thing down like my Mtn. brothers. One thing that I miss about home, things are much more simple. BTW, great pics earlier of the "snow" from your location. Folks down here never believe me when I tell them it can snow in October in the mountains. Take care and stay warm!

Wagner for Prez?

I mailed in my ballot last week. Why wait in line for hours, Tuesday will be a zoo. That's why I posted flyers everywhere telling Dems that they vote on Wednesday, Repubs on Tuesday.
