Unhappy Headlight Rant

Is Porsche competing with Acura in the worst car headlight category? And please, all Porsche drivers who live in the Maryland area, if it is not raining and foggy, please turn off your fog lights because you have rear fogs which burn my retina! This goes for your Audi drivers too! Good lord, I paid a lot for these lasik eyes and you are singlehandedly trying to make me blind!
My rant is over and I feel so much better now

The problem with Audi is a flawed headlamp switch design, where you pull the knob out to activate the rear foglamps. Unfortunately, I guess its easy to accidently pull it out when you turn the knob, and a lot of people don't look at their warning lights.

Speaking of which, I can't believe how many BMWs I see driving around with various warning lights on their dash. Presumably these are non-car educated people, but I see them driving with TPMS lights, DSC, BRAKE, etc..... lit up, and I wonder........do they know that there's a serious malfunction!?

AzNMpower,
I try not to look over when I am driving. I have seen some strange things that have been traumatized till this day! I have a friend who has a Lexus and it always flashes some message or another and she always ignored. One day I was in the car with her and saw it flashing. I asked what it was and she said it will go away. $4000 worth of repairs later, the message finally went away. It was the service engine light that had been flashing for a year because she had never gotten the car serviced!! Lexus did not cover the repairs.

I was once traveling to the airport with someone in a Toyota van when I noticed a warning on the dash. It was the check engine light. It turns out he had not had the car serviced since he got the car. Three years and 40,000 miles later. Needless to say I was afraid we were not going to make it to the airport on time. Why do some people do this?

Well, the thing with Toyotas and Check Engine Lights, is that it can be ignored in some cases up until state emissions. For some reason, the weak spot in Toyota relibility is that the OČ sensors tend to fail prematurely or have a lot of problems, and thus, the CEL comes on. There really is no loss in performance or increase in emissions. We and other friends have had Toyotas before and in every case, this is the problem.
