I'm getting a carry permit here, partly as a result of this. Been thinking about for awhile anyways, but it's time. The law is that you have the right to presume bodily harm and malintent in your home, vehicle, or the wonderful catch-all "anywhere you have a legal right to be".

There is no more requirement in Florida to "flee first" as most places have through case law. There is a real fear that it will lead to unnecesary shootings. The home and car were good, but the 'anywhere else' is scary.

There is another law to be introduced this session that would prohibit employers from banning firearms from their property. You can still ban them from being in the office, but workers would be allowed to bring them to the workplace, as long as they leave in their locked car.

Florida politics is a joke. Not on this issue necessarily, but in general. My party runs the state, but they are losers in the whole, and decent in the exception.
