works for me - tired of criminals having more rights than me - someone comes into your house and YOU are the one who has to leave, never made sense to me - I want to defend my family and what is mine - as far as I'm concerned, you deny me my rights, you lose yours also - Brady and their ilk never talk about how many times a firearm is used to save lives - and how much the crime rate has gone down in right-to-carry states - and how criminals in Fla target tourists "because they won't have a gun" (which is why rental car companies no longer put identifying tags on their cars in Fla) - anyone who thinks removing weapons from the lawful citizens is a good idea, has only to look at England and Australia where violent home invasion (meaning someone is in the house) have soared

Not to get into a political/philosophy arm wrestle...I take No human life lightly, but if some punqueazz wants to "come in" and I can reach for Mr Mossberg or MrGlock, that jerk is probably not gonna walk out.

I had a LTC permit in NY,(NOT NYC, however), back in the days...I have not persued it here in NC.

This new law for FLA, very sim to the existing one in TX, will give the talking head/blowhards more fuel for the fire. My 2cts. BR,md

I knew my vision of mounting a fifty caliber rifle on the roof of my X5 had a purpose.

I'm getting a carry permit here, partly as a result of this. Been thinking about for awhile anyways, but it's time. The law is that you have the right to presume bodily harm and malintent in your home, vehicle, or the wonderful catch-all "anywhere you have a legal right to be".

There is no more requirement in Florida to "flee first" as most places have through case law. There is a real fear that it will lead to unnecesary shootings. The home and car were good, but the 'anywhere else' is scary.

There is another law to be introduced this session that would prohibit employers from banning firearms from their property. You can still ban them from being in the office, but workers would be allowed to bring them to the workplace, as long as they leave in their locked car.

Florida politics is a joke. Not on this issue necessarily, but in general. My party runs the state, but they are losers in the whole, and decent in the exception.

There has never been a duty to retreat FROM your own home. You have always been allowed to presume threat of great danger for an intruder in your home, in Florida and most other places.

Also, I think criminals in any place target tourists - they're carrying money. No brainer.

Correct me if I'm wrong,
But I seem to remember when I had my conceal weapons permit in Florida,
Florida is a "Castle" state which means, you have to flea everywhere except your home. Because your home is your "Castle" it is assumed that you have no where to flea or you did flea and you flea'd to your home/castle.

I also thought you didn't have to flea if there was more than one assisalinat..

Anyway.. I wish they would open up the gun laws in California.. I would love to carry again.
