it's not about wealth, it's about the character of people who chose BMWs... most of the time they are young, dynamic, love sports, the thrill, the luxury, and of course they are successful as well...

Anyway, here in Lebanon, BMWs are mostly linked to the "lebanese forces" (LF) christian militia guys... that's funny, cause i am supporter of the LF, so maybe it's true after all !!! Eventhough after the war is over, the LF has become a purely political party, but their supporters are known to be young and dynamic, and often described as over-hyper, love to live "a la granda" and always getting into trouble so that's a BMW character! however, most LF guys prefer the 3 series... a classy LF would drive an X5 :p

When a car becomes an expression of a character and beliefs, it's a sign that this auto maker has soul in his cars and actually communicates with his customers...

With regards to the media, they always stress the person was driving a 'BMW' refering to an expensive sports/luxury car. I don't think that's a bad rep.

Bimmers almost never get bad grades in any of the car mags. They may finish #2 sometimes, in say a 5-car comparo article, but never below that.

And I also don't see any evidence that the media is out to smear or criticize BMW.
