530i ends at 6th place in Car & Driver comparo

At the least I expect BMW to be in top 3. Seems like the Japs are taking over.

Thanks for the article, Lemans. Seems like an unfair comparo since some of the cars have V8 while others 6 cyl.

But I'm not surprised since lately C&D seems to be biased agaisnt BMWs.

LOL yeah wonderful...a guy bought the Infinite M45 on my street. It has bulges in its sheetmetal which remind me of the Beetle's shape. I can't believe what Nissan corportate money can do to make sure the Germans are put to a disadvantage...

We'll talk again when the new engines are put in the E60.

Like it or not the Japanese cars have caught up to BMW and are passing them. I would never want a E60, its a ugly over priced machine. I'm sure it drives nicely, but so does everything else now. It's a shame, I really hope BMW returns to its roots after this stupid Bangle era.

I second that emotion. I still can't stand the new 5er and I find myself still admiring the E39's. I just saw an E39 540 Sport with the M Technic bumpers on it and thought "I want one of those". I will never look at an E60 and think that.

It's sad how the Japanese have caught up to the Germans... I doub't I'll ever own a Japanese car... They might drive well, etc., but they're just not the same.. I almost smacked myself today when I was admiring a car on the highway... It was an Acura TL..

Laugh all ya want but they have the fun of a German car with the reliability of a Japanese car....its a killer combo, sadly.

It IS sad... BMW needs to get back to its roots of world-class engineering and performance. I am SOO afraid that the X5 will be the next bimmer to get "Bangled." <sigh>

On a more important note, LeMans... how do you already have the May copy of C&D?? I'm jealous!
