Photo Editing Program

Hello All - Can someone suggest a photo editing program I can easily use and is hopefully a free download? I have a new PC and am operating with Vista - I download photos into the Windows Photo Gallery but it has very limited editing features. I cannot (with my present set-up) resize photos to meet size parameters for email and site postings. I'm sure my post indicates my lack of PC knowledge! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE - John

I was going to say Picasa or GIMP (if you want free).

Here's a good article Free Photo Editors for Windows - Top Picks

irfanview is good but if you're just looking for an image resizer (file size & dimensions) grab this... start the app, choose which photos, then choose how big you want it. That's all there is to it.

Free Image Resize Software Import organize resize photos- VSO

I use a freeware program called Screen Shot Captor and it works great for resizing to a dimension or to a specific size weight. It also allows you to crop and add animation, captions, or all sorts of other graphical treatment: Screenshot Captor - Mouser - Software - DonationCoder.com

Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket is also free and has an easy, user friendly editing program. Bring up a pic click on 'edit' then on 'geek'. A walk through video is on call as you go about editing your pic, very easy. Good luck

Picasa 3...
but, it takes a while to get a feel for the way it manipulates
the storage layout all of your photo files/photo folders that
you allow to copy into it.

It does offer some serious "adjustments" to photo files.

I agree. Picasa is quite simple to use and offers some free online storage. A friend who was having trouble with PhotoShop Elements loves Picasa. Now available for Mac too, IIRC (could be beta).

Thank you all very much - I tried the Photobucket but kept getting errors and then went to VSO - works so easily. Thank you again.
