iAudio X5 vs. 5g Ipod Video

Ok guys, I have quite the dilemma here. My iAudio X5 should be arriving tommotow. I am debating whether to send it back or not. It also plays video, but a slightly smaller screen and lower res. The new ipod is so damn thin, but it really is lacking the fm tuner i also wanted. I paid $275 for the X5, and I can get the ipod for $269 with student discount. I'd appreciate your inputs. Gresch, where are you?

iAudio, Rio and Creative will compete for the bottom third of the market, but Apple is the king. Get an iPod and wait for http://www.podfreq.com/ to make a compatible tuner.

BTW the PSP is now dead as a door nail also... Sony kicks their own ass more than any company I know. They had the perfect device - Madden, TW2005, MP3 and video on one device and couldn't figure out how to sell it to adults (the ones with the $$$) and integrate it into our (adult) toys - Big Screen TV, Home Theatre and X5.

That's an fm transmitter. Im talking about the opposite: fm tuner to receive broadcasts from stations.

That thing is huge. It's not exactly a take it wherever you go kinda device. I'm gonna have to really examine my priorities of my criteria for an mp3 player.

Haven't seen it in person but it does have some nice features.

FM radio recorder feature that saves FM programming as voice recordings.

The following inclusions also help justify spending $50 on the Griffin iFM to add FM to your iPod:

The iFM doubles as an inline remote. Apple charges $39 for its inline remote, which doesn't include half of what the iFM gets you.

When you click the Record button during an FM broadcast, your iPod fires up and starts recording to a new voice file automatically--even in Hold mode.

When you're listening to digital music on your iPod and flip the switch over to FM, your iPod shuts down to save power--even in Hold mode.

The iFM defaults to American radio stations (87.5, 87.9, 91.1, and so on) but can be switched to European or Japanese bands. This saves you from skipping through extraneous stations, no matter which continent you're on.

It includes six FM presets, and accessing them is easy.

Although using the iFM does mean another cord, Griffin was smart about its design. If you clip the iFM to your belt or a bag strap, the wire won't get in your way.
