400yards from my friends window.......caused a co-worker to have a heart attack and another to go into labor! I MEAN WTF! With all the technology you are telling me no one could have PHOTO  SHOPPED THIS? Better still how much did it cost (not fuel) but the down time.....to the business for this disruption.  MAYBE THE GOVT IS MAKING A TAPE TO SEND TO THE TERRORISTS....SAY SEE WE CAN STILL FLY OVER NYC........JUST STUPIDITY!!!!!!! Quote:

of all the people involved with this "Mission" none of them were able to stop it. (they couldn't have all agreed this was a good idea) what a waste of time and resources. and to agree with NyMench the down time of compaines and people in NY freaking out; heart attack? ouch. early labor? yikes.
white house military office convo: "our part of the stimulus came through, so looks like we gotta fuel up the spare jet and fly it over NY and have it escorted by a fighter jet for no reason" "good to hear, do we have to pay taxes next year?" this is transparency?

Caldera apologized yesterday "for any distress the flight caused."
I guess that makes it all okay. I suppose he would have apologized for the amount of taxpayer money he pissed away in the span of a few hours, but since the treasury is printing it faster than any government official can spend it, the whole joy ride was practically free.

Update 2 p.m. ET: A White House official says Caldera was called to a meeting today with Emanual and Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina. The official says he's "pretty sure the meeting was not pleasant."
Oh man, if there ever was a time I wished I was Oprah it was now!

Those planes are expensive
 President Barack Obama ordered a review of a publicity-photo shoot with one of the planes that serves as Air Force One that cost taxpayers $328,835 and caused a furor in New York City.
