Curious Joel is on a distinguished road
Back from CT

Yes, I'm back from my whirlwind tour of Connecticut... Most of you probably didn't notice I was gone, because I'm really sneaky! So... We left around 10 Friday morning. I drove the whole way down.. We took the XC70. Since I had the family with me I never saw a speed above 80, and that was on a deserted stretch of I-91 in western Massachusetts.Yes, Chris F, I did briefly think about you while I was on I-91.. "Hey, I'm supposed to think of Chris F." I-91 really needs some road work.. It's bumps are really jarring in places. The whole stretch through Springfield, MA, needs to go back to the drawing boards. There is one turn that is so sharp that the speed limit on it is like 40... And the road is narrow and badly paved going through downtown. The 91/84 interchange in Hartford is confusing. I saw a Bentley Continental GT on 84 west. Then we visited my 93 year old grandmother, who I'm happy to say is in perfect health and has a brain that's sharper than almost anyone I know. Then we left her house at 8 this morning and drove home... On 91 I was passed by a black 4.8 that must have been doing at least 130. I also was passed by a gray Cayenne Turbo that was driving at a very conservative 95 mph. Ironically, about half a mile past where the Cayenne exited 91, there was a speed trap with three state troopers. I was going 65, though, so I was fine. It's the end of the month, and the highways were swarming with cops.. I saw three in 30 seconds, in seperate places. It was amazing. Well I must rush off to Nashua to pick the 330xi up, so I'll be back later.
Was there any point to me writing this? No. But feel free to flame me if you want me to stop writing pointless things!
