Home Experts... And Cali law... Sqft.
Greetings folks..
So I may or may not be closing escrow. Can someone tell me what does and doesn't count as square footage, legally. In other words, if there is a detached "guest house" over the garage, is that counted as square footage? What if it's not heated or air conditioned? What if there is no kitchenette? Cause the MLS listing shows the house as being 4800/sqft. But the overhead's which show room dimension, I added up all the room sizes and it only equals 3215 sqft. (not including bathrooms and closets..) But the bathrooms and closets aren't huge so I don't reasonably see them being, 1585 sqft. - I think they are counting the 400 sqft. room above the garage and the garage floor.. Is that appropriate? Especially if the garage floor is a true garage (unfinished) and the room above it isn't air conditioned or heated?) Thanks. B
