I suppose if one can "afford"/rationalize that MB, that ~$5 bucks a mile "cost"
doesn't cause the driver to daydream about his checking acct. balance or, portfolio.

Not sure how the R8 costs more to own than pretty much any Ferrari or Lambo.

I'm pretty sure my 2000 A6 cost more to own and operate than any Ferrari or Lambo, it lived in the shop and a $2,000 repair bill was a common occurrence!

...let's see: the CEO & I want to make the annual Oct run to NJ/NY
to see the Kidz, et al. ~ 700 miles each way, another couple hundred
miles driving around to get to A to B to C. No sweat, we will take that
MB! It will only cost ~ $8Gs+ for the car trip, plus tolls, plus dinners
for the kids, plust vino, plus stuff...

Chunk of Pie: a $10G week visiting the Fam., in the MB.

Ryan, $250 for an OC in the Treg? WTF?!

I too would take the R8 or the 911, or the ZR1 or...

We are taking the 2003 CR-V pos today, for errands
and Couples Sunday Golf later.

GTFOOH... $250 for an oil change? whoa. And I thought $100 for an oil change on the vette was steep.

EDIT: I just checked Vwvortex and people are quoting anywhere from $80-$130. Wherever you are taking the car to get an oil change you're getting screwed.

5k doesn't sound right. The Treg uses synthetic (and a LOT at that) but even further it's every 10k miles beyond the first 5k service. The first 5k isn't expensive but the 10k's after that typically include more than an oil change and I always have them done at the dealer. I'm sure I could pay less if I took it to Jiffy Lube but I don't really trust them to do it right.
