Golf travel bags

I'm taking the clubs with me on a plane for the first time next weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations on a travel bag? I'm waffling between the nylon/soft cases and a hard case. Any pros/cons?

It all depends on how valuable UR clubs R ...... if UR clubs are expensive, then go w/ the hard case, if not go w/ the soft case,...... I have both ...

I have used the soft nylon, zip bag, that encapsulates your std golf bag. Only got a shaft bent once...
I do wrap the heads, (with as many head covers on as possible),
in a large golf towel simply to reduce clanking and for more "protection".

And, stuffing wind shirts, rain gear etc. around the "orbit" of the heads
seems to offer add'l padding.

Those hard case jobs are gonna cost you to buy, cost to check and
are like lugging around a bass, imo.

Otoh, I've played with rented clubs several times, and if it's a decent
joint w/decent clubs, I have enjoyed hitting other brands of sticks.

Imo, if one is single digit or very low dbl digits, and playing often at
the destination, it is comforting to have one's own clubs; if not, who
cares. Hit the ball, chase it, find it, hit it again, imo.

I'm goin to the ND/USC game in South Bend next weekend and I'm playing in a tournament that Friday. Two reasons I'm bringing my clubs is that 1) I'm lefty 2) I just bought new clubs and want to use them.

The hard cases seem too big and bulky.

Probably a top qual bag cover...but, the $100 job on side of the page will do
the same thing, imo.

If the gang tossing bags on the plane wants to manhandle yours, not sure
the 200 buck bag vs. the 100 buck bag makes a diff. But, it's your dough.

I've got a 20% off coupon for anything in the store. Seriously though, I'm going to be traveling with my clubs a lot more frequently now, so I'm looking for something a bit more durable and with a lifetime warranty.

And yes, lefty, explains a lot huh? lol
