Sure...but, hard to pull off for the avg homeowner, let alone any company, at least here in the windy Appalachians. Nice idea, but NIMBY syndrome is rampant here.
There are only a handful of "wind power" stocks that I know of, and all are on the OTC BB/pinks, with zip for revs and real projects, other than hopeful PR releases. Great idea, as an energy supplement, and probably somewhat practical in some parts of the country, but an acceptance/permit nightmare from my reading. GL,mD

I got this article in my mail account from the Motley Fool.

You should see the wind farms in Normandy. Massive... I know that they just nixed a huge wind farm up by my mountain house in Maine due to the economic clusterf*ck, but damn that would have been great... Its in the middle of nowhere, using the wind that plagues the area and would shut up all the crazy eco-freaks all at the same time... Maybe on the next cycle...

Apparently (as some have said) People are trying to cash in investment wise.
That may be good or bad I have no clue. But in today's market and considering all the scams floating around I think I'll pass.

Lets just surround D.C with windmills and in a month or two we can kiss our oil addiction goodbye forever. Plenty of wind coming form there. Chinese are flooding the market with solar these days in an attempt to steal the market for it. Solar is $10 a watt in Africa and $100 a watt in America.....think the government wants you to stop going to the pump? Think again. This is 1981 all over again.....Obama is just a black version of Jimmy Carter; only then it was anybody but Nixon....haha I am laughing at america from up here in Wyoming, we are still off everyones radar up here and living free like our forefathers intended. As soon as China buys enough treasury bills to force the world OFF the dollar standard for oil we will all be to China like Mexico is to us now. You want to invest?..invest in yourself and your hard work and stop trying to get rich off of a "play" without ever putting down your remote control...pathetic ..we are all becoming pidgeons and the hawks are multiplying.

we happen to own a community wind turbine , cost £2.5 million , will pay for itself in 5 years , we currently earn £50 Gs a year from it rising to £500 Gs when it`s paid for .
what do you think of that then .

I'm for it, but FYI, realize this is not a 24/7 power source - too much wind(~35mph), they shut down as the prop tips will reach the speed of sound

According the the "MOTLEY FOOL" the wind energy industry has been booming for the last 3 years. In 2007, it grew 45% and provided almost a third of new U.S. power generation, more than any other kind of energy except natural gas. It continues to expand in 2008 despite all the economic, financial institution and investment market woes and an obstinate federal legislature that refuses to provide nurturing policy.
Question is are any of you on board with this as an investment???
