Is the 950 similar to the 970?

EDIT: Sorry - just saw the 950 - completely different beast than the 970.

i have the e815 as well and i love it...it hooks up with the X5's bluetooth no problem. I would recommend getting a transflash card for it so that you can put your own songs on the phone as ringtones, as opposed to using the really bad midi tones that Get It Now has. You can also edit/hack the Bluetooth seem (i think that is what it's called) if you want to have it sync with your computer, pda, etc.

Moto Phones

What is the REALY good price that Verizon is giving you on the Moto 815? I too am considering an upgrade and the Moto v710 (new version that works w/BT) and the E815 are the top candidates. I would like the RAZR, but have heard bad things about battery life.

Thanks!

I went and looked at this phone this evening. As I played around with it I noticed the keys had no backlight. I ask about it and the sales lady said "Oh you just cant see it in this light". I pointed to another phone right next to it and responded, " I can see this one just fine" I cupped my hand around the keys to make it dark but no light from the keys. What am I missing here. I cant imagine a new phone with a keyboard so dim you can only see it in the dark. I gave up and left the store. I was trying to be nice but I guess I was looking really stupid tonight.

Amazon has the E815 and they pay you $50.00 to buy it. There are conditions though.

I haven't hacked mine yet as I haven't needed to, but if you type in "e815 seem edit" in google, you'll find sites that will show you how. You'll need the data cable for that. Check out this page... http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/e815seem.html

I bought mine at full price because I did my "new every two" about a year ago and I didn't want to wait another year to use the bluetooth in the X5. I figure if you can get it under $100, that's a good deal. The e815 is the upgrade to the v710 and supposedly has less bugs.

I get the 815 for $49/2yr or $79/1yr w/corp discount. That's as good as it's going to get to the best of my knowledge. You should check if your employer has Verizon discounts.
