You haven't gone to Europe unless...

Part I-

Massive football match. Allez les bleus! The Irish offense played like crap, but got lucky early on, then had a good defense. In extra play, France locked it up and secured their passage to the World Cup. Absolutely insane night, and was definitely worth the test that I just failed.

I just saw the resume of that match!Being a neutral.I would say with justification that the Irish got robbed!Any one that saw the French goal can see that the final pass was hand ball and therefore irregular! It seems the referee was the only only not to have seen the handball!Even Henry´s reaction shows how surprised he was that the referee allowed the goal.
Feel sorry for the Irish...they deserved to go through! My opinion of course!

I'm glad that Ireland and France worked out their communication issues:

And yes, Ireland was robbed. A travesty.

Ireland played like shit. Y'all missed the fireworks before that, but what happened was that the game slowly degenerated into an uncontrolled shit show as far as the rules were concerned. As far as technical, the French were miles better than the Irish. (I'm irish, I feel like saw half my family in the green section, was really glad I was sober but painfully neutral/torn in terms of the match) But yeah... It could have been handled in a much classier manner. All of my french friends have their facebook statuses "I want a rematch for the honor"

I'm glad France won. There were already cars torched by the Algerians in the middle of the Champs-Elysees as a celebration of their victory. WTF.

I did get stopped by several reporters on the way out and was asked if I was Irish. ha.

Yes, L I am. I'm going to write my last paper of the term. Its a toughie, a two pager on why I like a poem. I think I'm gonna have a 4.0 this term. Then its off to Germany , Provence then back to Paris to show the CFO around.

I saw that match as well...

Respect for Henry's football skills, but that move was of a low-life and a cheat...

As a French (living in the USA for 11years) I think that the French did not play well at all last night but so did not the Irish either. This match was not what I would call a great soccer match. All the French newspapers I read agreed that the French team did not play their soccer as well as they agreed that there was an obvious hand from Henry. However on the overall of the match I believe that the best team won.
