The last Pontiac rolls off of the line

On Wednesday, Pontiac died.

Pontiac reaches end of the line | detnews.com | The Detroit News

Having owned 4 Firebirds, and I grew up riding in the back of my dad's 1970 Grand Prix this is a sad day.

Can you say.............rental car?

Quote:
Unlike the last Oldsmobile, an Alero signed by hundreds of plant workers and donated to the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing, the final G6 models will be sold as part of a fleet order.
I wouldn't mind a G8/Holden Commodore.

Not all fleet cars are rentals. Many sales people get company cars.

Had a '76 TransAm; traded it for a '78 TransAm, 4 spd, T/A 400 motor,
8" wide wheels, etc. Great car, in the day. And, remember watching
& driving buddies' breathed on GTOs on Woodward Ave in the '60s.
Sad end to an era that represented the Ol'General's performance division.

guess they learned the hard way that you just can't keep re-badging vehicle and calling them "different models"
