Update - pulled the trigger - Thinking of buying a car....

See post #25

I'm thinking of adding a car that I will drive everyday, looking for power, quickness, handling and it must be an old school manual transmssion. Prefer a 2 door, convertible is nice but not a must have.

No more garage space so it will sit in the driveway and I want to be able to park it in a resturant or store parking lot without worring about someone messing with it.

Cars I'm considering for a test drive before I narrow it down - Anyone have any of these cars and can share some insight?

08 BMW M3 coupe
07 Corvette Z06
10 Shelby GT500
10 Camaro SS
09 Audi S5
0? BMW M5

Not on the list for $$ reasons and it needs to sit in the driveway (when not in every day good weather use) vs inside the garage and I don't want to worry about it. Also more of a dream car list for me.

Ford GT
Aston Martin Vantage
Ferrari California
Ferrari 348 or 360
Corvette ZR1
Lambo Gallardo

Great car but I'm looking for more performance and power/torque. They aren't really that quick but I bet they are a blast to drive.

Here you go. Its really a great car. The handling is great, old school stick shift, and this is limited edition because of the interior is butterscotch colored. It also has a leather dash and suede headliner

for the two and a half years he's owned it, the only reason it has been to the dealer is for oil changes and one problem (flywheel replacement).

This is your list of "leave in the driveway and not worry about someone messing with it in a parking lot?" You must be over-vehicled.

10 Shelby GT500

That is one great looking car - I bet it is a blast to drive too. Leaning towards something a bit newer with fewer miles.

What I posted probaby came out the wrong way - first I'm probably crazy for wanting another one and I don't NEED another vehicle. I'm very fortunate and greatly appreciate what I have. My garage is too small and my desire for cars is much bigger. So you are right, for some, I am way over vehicled.

Y, I have the same disease, but on a fixed income budget, unfortunately.

I like all the cars in your list, but am a Vette fan; I would sub a Z51 C6
for the Z06, as I think the non-Z06 is a better daily/frequent driver; there
are ubiquitous used C6s out there like foreclosed homes.

All the other rides are very cool too, but I would personally look at clean
used MYs on those models, especially for "sitting" in your driveway...

Wish I had your conundrum!

Yes, my vice is a disease brother. Fortunately you can't get arrested for it but this will be my last one to add, my wife is reached her limit of my indulgence. The good news is she is loves cars too, not as much as me but she really appreciates them.

The other Vette that caught my eye is the new Grand Sport - you get the wider body and additional aerodynamic body parts of the Z06, you can get it in a rag top and it's a better everyday car.

Trying to push the purchase price back/down though, these would put me beyond where I want to be. Z51 C6's are much less for sure, especially if you go back to an 07 or an 08. However, the power, quickness and sound of that Z06 is really a draw.

Whichever one I go with, it won't be sitting in the driveway for too much - this will be my daily non bad weather driver.

I realize how lucky I am to have this "problem".
