Online right now in 1st class on Virgin Airlines

I'm a frequent flyer who was a United and Southwest passenger. After several service issues I tried Virgin on the advice of a good friend. I'll ALWAYS fly this airline if they have a route to my destination.

I'm on a short flight from San Francisco to San Diego and the total cost First Class was $180 round trip. The wait was minimal and the plane is very modern. Everyone I've dealt with went out of their way to make sure I was treated right and happy.

If you are a frequent flyer you have to fly Virgin. 20 times better than United or Southwest which I have used many times in my travels.

Since 5-6 years ago, I've decided that United was absolute rubbish. Their quality of service has hit rock bottom, reminiscent of NWA and American.

When I fly to Europe, I take the European airlines when possible. In May, I took Air France (B+) and last year it was Air Berlin (B+ as well, which is good for a discount airline). I've quit flying to Asia because I really can't deal with the long flight times and horrible service.

I love Virgin. They were fantastic, even in Economy class on a 747 going to London. I just flew British Airways last weekend, can't say enough good. The cocktails were even free in the EuroTraveler class

Lufthansa, IMHO, is the best, as long as you avoid the SwissAir crews (although they're getting better)...Virgin Atlantic's also pretty good. BA's kinda hit or miss; last experience was beyond awful. Air France is definitely lower, Alitalia lower still.

FYI -- Lufthansa had in-flight wifi a few years ago through the Boeing program; it was pretty cool to surf over the middle of the Atlantic back then!

I have yet to try Lufthansa. Perhaps if I'm lucky next year I can fly the nonstop from Wash/Dulles to München.

Affaires in Air France looked really nice though.

It costs a solid 1 000 € for a DOMESTIC ticket with that, I think a flight boston to CDG was about 4,000 US in biz.

Well, seeing as how most airlines rely heavily on business and first class travel for revenue, it's not really surprising. A business-class ticket to Munich is €2300-ish.

You know, I always wanted to try the $5,000 magnum at that club. Maybe I should do that instead and save a few G's.
