In-ground pool in unexpectedly cold weather

It looks like in the next couple of days weather in North Dallas is going to take a dive into unusually low temperature range. It is going to stay below freezing for a couple of days (in 15-25F range). Then it should go into the 32+ range.

I own an in-ground pool with no hot-tub. I'm worried that in this weather the pumps alone may not be enough to prevent a freeze-up. Should I not be worried too much about it considering the expected temperature range and how it is going to last? What can I do (if anything) to avoid the damage?

We have several friends that winter in central and north FL, with in ground pools,
who have weather close to that cold. They turn up their pool heater, (not cheap,
I realize), and run their pool recirc units non-stop, until the cold snap passes.

They have gotten through the cold snaps with no leaks...no guarantee, but it
works for them at the 30 deg F and, occasional below 30 deg nights.
