A total YMMV deal on LCD TV

I know this is a long shot and a total YMMV deal but it might be worth checking your local Sam's Club for a deal I got yesterday on a LCD TV. My sister and I walked out with 3 of them!

I got a 42" Vizio 1080p 120Hz LCD TV for $499. (Model VT420M) The strange way this deal came about was seeing it on the Sam's site for one of our local stores showing it at $748 delivered or $499 picked up in store. We ordered online and chose to "click and pull" at the store at the $499 price. Even stranger was that that set was on the store shelf for $599. We went to member services and they brought out the orders, we paid $499 apiece, and off we went.

I asked one of the managers what was up and he said that they were just trying to clear out some inventory for newer stock. The other Sam's in our area did not have this deal and it could totally be that no other Sam's has this deal (the Sam's site even states that prices can vary store to store) but I wanted to share because it is a smoking deal and the VT420M is actually quite good and is definitely great at $499.

I found out why the deal on the TV. It was clearing inventory but because that Sam's Club is closing. In fact, they are closing about 10 stores across the country that were underperforming. So if you are in an area where they are closing a Sam's Club, you might get some great closeout deals.

We have another club nearby so they'll likely move product over but there will still be things they'd rather sell.
