Twinkies, Off to Valhalla...

I grew up on these weird, 'then delicious' things, back in the '50s.

Don't bet on it MD. As soon as someone buys the rights
Those cream filed logs will be off and running again.

Yep. Bring 'em back. Non-union and knock 'em dead.

Yep, the brand will survive, maybe not as long as Twinkies are supposed to have in shelf life but still, some other company will buy the brand and keep them going.

As an aside, it is interesting how the finger pointing has been going on. Unions blame management and management blame the unions. I think they are both responsible for the end of Hostess.

well, this is a corporate game of chicken - the unions place a bet that the company will not want to close itself and to cut loses will agree to the terms of the union or at least will negotiate... the Hostess took a very bold move, akin to a Russian roulette - just to prove a point (and I am sure, there were compelling financial reasons as well), the company just folded and unions got no opponent to fight with (a victory equivivalent to a loss!!!)...

to be honest, even though i totally understand the point of the unions in the effort to protect the workers, i really applaud the bold move of the company... lol...

Ive heard that the bakers union did not want to make concessions HERE at hostess, because it would impact their position at other companies.... They knew it would force BK, but their interest was in the other members, not these 18,000.
