So long e53...

Just sold our 2002 4.4i sport package. It was sad to see it go after nearly 5 years. It really was a great vehicle. Always felt solid on the road and had that great European look that some of the newer models don't have, imo.

Thanks to all of you for contributing to this site. It sure made my ownership experience a lot more fun and some repairs much, much easier.

I am somewhat addicted to this forum, so I doubt I will be able to stay away. Maybe I will get back into the X mix with a pre-owned F25 X3 in a couple years. Until then, my e46 M3 will have to be good enough.

One last pic of the old girl.

Someone out there is just as excited as you were the day you got your X5. Hopefully they have the passion to keep it looking and performing like you did.

Enjoy the e46, lucky you can drive it year round. any pics?

The guy that bought it actually owns his own repair shop, so he should be capable of maintaining it. He was very excited and kept saying how nice it was. It seems like it went to a very good home, which makes me feel good.

It is nice that I don't have a need for winter wheels and tires. However, the fact that I grew up in northern Ohio makes me somewhat jealous when I see the posts regarding fresh snow up north. It is always beautiful when it is white. After it has been there for a few days and turns grey, not so much.

Here are some pics of my M3. It is an 04 with about 44,000 miles now. 39,000 when I bought it. I have since installed stealth corner bulbs and body matched front reflectors. Made a big difference to get rid of all that orange, imo.

what a great car with such low miles. I really like the way the e46 M drove. Have fun with it!

and dont miss the snow too much, its very cold here already.. And winter rubber is not fun to have on your car. (makes me less inclined to hit corners hard, etc. at fear of stripping 10k miles of tread off on one turn lol)

Thanks!

No doubt, but tire wear is the price you pay for the ability to climb a tree in a snow storm.

It's always easier to break up with a girl if you have a new one waiting for you, figuratively speaking, of course.

The E46 M3 is still a great looking car!

Yes, it did make it easier.

Thanks! I have wanted an e46 M3 since I first saw spy photos over 10 years ago and it literally puts a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel. I have gotten more compliments in this car that I would have ever imagined. I usually hand wash my cars, but the day I sold the X5 I took it to a car wash. As I was standing in the outside waiting area, my X5 rolled out. Still a good looking car I though to myself. Then, just after my X5, rolled out a Imola Red e46 M3 with CSL wheels, everyone took time to turn around and stare at it and 3 of the workers almost fought each other to be the one who got to pull it up front. Even after almost 10 years, that is just the type of car that it is. I absolutely love it.

Yeah I had separation anxiety on my '01 e53 on Labor Day of last year--except mine was a forced separation and happened suddenly--it got T-boned that day. Great vehicles. You'll be back I'm sure. Have fun with the M in the meantime.
