Few pics from Orleans - France
Here are few pics from Orleans in France where I am staying this week and where I used to live back 12 years ago. Not the best pictures but it gives you an idea of the place. Orleans is a beautiful old town. This is where 16 years old Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc) led an army to victory against the English at the siege of Orleans. One of the pictures shows the excavation of some 700 years old buildings that they discovered while working on a new streetcar line.

Great pictures.

I was in Orleans years ago, at the Leroy Somer factory, doing witness testing. I really enjoyed the trip, apart from having to go through Paris. Much more friendly people in Orleans, in my limited experience.

Almost HDR ish, with the lower angle and soft light...

Was there on my last trip to France, circa 2000, when
I was about to depart "work".

Beautiful city. I recall something about the Loire being
diverted and split...

NEway, glad your old home place sold so well/quickly and,

Ah yes, the streets of Europe. Cool pictures, and gotta love the public transportation.

So, any workers' strikes that might have have been irritating? (Sorry, can't resist, it's France).

Looks like a nice place. Beautiful architecture, clean streets. I've never been to France but Orleans will definitely be a stop if I go. Looks like it's on the way to Bordeaux from Paris.

If it is the Leroy Somer fatcory in St Jean de Braye it is 2 miles from my house.
