Canada, Congratulations & Thank You

Congratulations to all of Canada and especially the Olympic athletes and coaches for an incredible set of performances.

Thank you for being amazing hosts to the world and once again showing how great the Canadian people are in so many ways.

The best to you and your families.

...and, well deserved!

JCL, rayxi, PNG/K, et al should be very proud of Vancouver, their countrymen
and, their country. Great games, excellent respect from the crowds, and a
winter Olympics I might actually recall.

The ambiance projected through my TV reminded me of why I always
felt CDA was my 2nd Fave country on the planet.
Kudos & Accolades to the GWN!

Thanks, what a great sentiment!

It feels pretty good in Vancouver, and I am sure in the rest of Canada, right now. We were able to throw a great party for the world, but we also found a way to celebrate being Canadian, something we haven't done very often as a nation.

We hope that those who visited come back again, and that those who didn't make it think about stopping in.

Some final pictures in this thread here....

Budget aside, Vancouver did a fantastic job hosting. It's hard to believe it's already been 22 years since we hosted the games here in Calgary. If our history is any indication Vancouverites should be basking in the Olympic glow for quite some time. I think Canadians learned to to be openly and unapologetically patriotic over the last 2 weeks, a lesson we learned from our southern neighbors no doubt.

Congrats to the US for an incredible medal haul, even if it was somewhat lacking in the Au department.
