Xoutpost chat thread!!

Bored at work? Taking a break from working on the X5? Up late? Let's chat!

Currently at work, waiting for some e-mails to get back. Pretty low stress day all in all.

I just shipped off the blower to supercharger heaven, for refreshing of seals and to swap out the impeller to a newer, more efficient design. Hope to pick up a few ponies there. At the same time, I'm replacing
the belt. An interesting thing about the supercharger belt, is that Dinan has a tolerance for the belt length from the manufacturer. Napa p/n 25-060594 (type K, 6-rib, 59.4” long) is the part, but it must measure between 1505mm and 1515mm long, and some of the Napa belts off the shelf don't meet the tolerance. If the belt is too short, it will be impossible to put on and the technician could bend the tensioner during the attempt. If the belt is too long, then the two opposing sides could touch each other (near the tensioner pulley) after the belt stretches with use. Dinan's re-badged Napa belt (D862-6324) is a belt that they've checked and know to be the proper length.

So, what's up with you all?
