The Olympic Club in San Francisco

I'm going to be in San Francisco for a vacation next month for 5 days and was wondering if any of you have been to the Olympic Club. A good friend of mine here is a life long member and said they have a hotel with about 15 rooms for friends of members, and he suggested we stay there on the premises. I could not really find any information or reviews about it (or pictures of the rooms). I figure I would have good luck finding somewhere here who is either a member or have experience with it.

I'm not going to be golfing on this trip, but I think the facilities look great for some swimming and tennis. I am just trying to decide if I should look somewhere else where I am more confident on the product I'll get since there are some great hotels in the area. Any comments/suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

You're going to the Olympic Club for swimming or tennis? That's like going to a strip club for music appreciation.

Man Rule: Never pass up an opportunity to play on a U.S. Open golf course.
