I knew Athens, GA. would be on there. GO DAWGS!
Athens, Ga. This small city, home to the 225-year-old University of Georgia, blends Southern history and traditions with a cutting-edge music scene — it's the birthplace of such rockers as R.E.M., the B-52's and Widespread Panic. During the day, tour Athens' charming historic homes and wander through acres of lush gardens (America's first gardening club was founded here). Don't miss such novelties as the world's only double-barreled cannon and the Tree That Owns Itself (having been bequeathed the plot of land surrounding itself in Colonel W.H. Jackson's will). When night falls, see Athens' thriving music scene come to life in a variety of clubs and bars, playing everything from rock and jazz to country and classical.

Actually, its because you can buy liquor until midnight, which has been the savior of many parties that are concieved after sundown in the Upstate of SC.
Greenville totally belongs on that list. Not. Except for a few things near campus we're definitely the "outsiders" Granted, if the strip mall near my school would only get a Whole Foods and a Buffalo Wild Wings it might make the cut for being convenient, Theres already Thai, Pizza, Mexican, a deli and a coffee house, and the girls have all the nails stuff too. I'm thinking of applying to UGA law, but thats going to be backwards. You're supposed to have fun in undergrad and work your tail off after. Last edited by Meiac09; 07-01-2010 at 09:10 PM. |

There's 2 other "W" factors that are important--weather and women---Boston is lacking compared to Austin, Athens, Lawrence, Gainesville and Boulder.

Quote:
![]() The website I got this from ranked UGA #6 as far as "hottest student bodies for 2010". Athens is an all time great college town, and it’s women can be put up against anyone’s and come out looking good. People who go to college in the northeast really have no idea what they are missing when it comes to the ladies.

If I was going to rank them on women:
