nice day for a cycling tour

Today was a lovely day here in Raleigh (NC), sunny with temp around 67f and some wind. I left the house around 10am with my bicycle and did a 3h 1/2 (55 miles) tour in the back country of Wake county. There was very little trafic on the back roads, I even saw several dears crossing the road about 100 feet from me. I also passed a white X5 3.0 parked on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere and nobody in sight. Pretty strange since there was no wood and no house in this area. . when you have to go you have to go I guess
When I came back I took a shower, relaxed listening to some music and then connected to x5world but now...now I am really ready for the TURKEY. I am STARVING

Well, I have been cycling (road cycling) almost everyday for about 3 years now. I usualy do between 70 and 90miles a week when the weather and my job enables it. When I resumed cycling back 3 years ago after 15 years of pretty inactive life I was exhausted after only 3 miles. I started cycling again cause my PCP found that I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol and advised me to exercice. Since I do not like jogging I bought a cheap mountain bike and started cycling. I got into it and after 8 months riding my crappy WalMart mountain bike I bought a serious road bike and have been cycling since almost everyday. With my bike I have discovered how lovely my county and my state are.

No I could not go to France at that time of the year this year but was there for the 2001 and 2003 Tour de France. I taped most of this year's Tour though. I grew up with the Tour, when I was a kid my father used to bring me and my brother to the nearest 'etape' to see the race. It was and is still a big event over there.
