Why a "hot shot", high amp jump start gizmo? How about a Battery Tender,
or similar product that is low amp, maintains and "floats" once batt is up to snuff?

I dont really have a closed garage to have a batter tender hooked up. Iv had boilers stolen out of my back yard by someone... and i really dont feel that leaving my car open and having it hooked up to a battery tender to be a good idea =/. I was really just looking for something like this for emergency purposes nothing to be used permanent.

I hear you...that one from Newegg is probably as good as any of their ilk.
No xpert on batts/charging systems, but it seems to me if your battery is losing charge due to "insufficient driving habits", as BMW would say, an occasional hot start jump will get you going, but does nothing for extending the life of your battery. But, a good band aid, I suppose. You mean you can't leave a battery tender type charger, plugged in to a few extension cords, hooked up to your car in Queens?! ;>) GL, mD

lol yeah i had a issue with the battery dying last year and was stuck about 15blocks away from home. but parked in a non parable zone =/ called a tow truck and they gave me a jump. but i replaced the battery(5 years old) and it did the trick. right now i just want a back up in case anything like this does happen to me again. or maybe i can help someone else out. things just disappear in my yard apparently.... nothing is safe!
