I've got about 150 deployed in my company, there's nothing we can do until the court battle plays itself out. I'm not going to replace 150 devices with treo's or something similar at ~ $400 a unit until I see what happens.
Even if they do ban new sales, and I can't get replacement units, I'll just replace them with something else as they get lost/stolen/broken.

I have a Blackberry 7750 - I have no idea how this will effect me...
Is this case based on the BES server? I get my email thru their on-line email push, not a BES...

Most probably they will settle then shutting down. Goverment is a major user of BBs.

We've got just under 50 of them deployed through the executive ranks, with the enterprise server. All are based outside the US, either in Canada, the UK, or South America. That means that the court case isn't likely to affect us directly, but it is interesting to watch.
I guess I wonder what NTP does that is so valuable. They don't make anything? No production? No sales? Just play out court cases? RIM on the other hand seems to be doing something with their product. That alone causes me to root for them. Now, to balance all of that, I gave my Blackberry 7290 back to our supplier last month, after testing it for 8 weeks. They were trying to convert me with a free extended demo. I couldn't find the value in having it. I travel a lot (20 weeks a year), I need global roaming (tri-band GMS/GPRS phone), and I need my laptop everywhere I go. The BB was just another device to carry. Thinking about getting a Sony EDGE GPRS card for the odd time I need data transfer, but Wi-Fi works just about everywhere I travel. It is expensive in Europe still, but then so is GPRS data. Not sure which way to go.

nothing is going to happen. They will just settle since it's too big of a market to give up.. and as others have mention some very very large corporations as well as the government are using BB so it will not go away anytime soon.
