License Plate Frames

I’ve been looking for a set of chrome license plate frames for a little while now. I do not like how most frames block a good portion of the state name and writing at the bottom of the plates. I saw a car the other day with the exact frame I want, but I cannot find them online. I’m hoping if I describe it, someone here will know what I’m talking about and where to buy it!

The frame I saw does not have the attachment holes on the front. I’m assuming the are hidden on the back. It gives the frame a very clean look – no tabs on the face of the plate/frame. (Brilliant idea, if you ask me!)

Anyone know what I’m talk about??

I think i gather what you're describing...i have something similar on another vehicle, a gift from a tuner. It had tabs and i would slide/pop the plate into the frame then screw the bolt through the plate and frame. Sound similar?

Will dig for pix...

I've not seen one like that before - I just picked up a thin one for the rear but there are 4 tabs for the screws and it has caps to cover them. Really thin frame so nothing is blocked.

PepBoys. Not crap, two steps above but not billet either.

Nope... that's not what I mean.

I'm looking for a tab-less chrome license plate frame. I do not need a bracket to attach to the vehicle. Got that already.

Here's three brands/models that can easily be found. Don't know if some are for bikes.
  • Joker Machine
  • Paul Yaffe
  • Novello Warrior 1

I had one a long time ago where it was a base plate that mounted to the car with the plate in it. A plastic frame clicked on top and hid all the hardware. It was so long ago I barely remember what it looked like much less where I bought it. I'll do some Googling.

Bracket design isn't a bad idea ^^...

Couldn't locate any good close up shots, even with photo editing software to zoom in. The vehicle is down South in warmer pastures. If this is still unresolved by the next time we head South, will try to remember to take pics. In the meantime, the online search continues.
