Ping Pong (er...I mean table tennis)?
How much do you need to spend to get a quality long lasting table? Any recommendations? I think my budget is $250-$500, but I am flexible. Most places want $100+ for delivery. Ouch...too bad it wouldn't fit in the X. |

I played it when I was small but Stiga is a good name. The delivery cost is stiff because of the bulk size of the table, not the weight.

Whatever table you want to get, check out ping-pong.com . They have great prices and shipping is free. One our family friends got a Stiga table through them and is very satisfied and I got my paddle/raquet through them as well. I am yet to see any retailer match their prices.

I have a low-end Stiga model, and it has served me well so far.

All the manufacturers you mentioned, Stiga, Kettler, Butterfly, SportCraft all make high end tables in the $400 to $500 range. I have a Butterfly table that retails for $600, picked it up on Craigslist for $200, almost never used.
Ping Pong tables are one of those things that people buy with the intention of playing alot, but it doesn't happen unless they are pretty serious about it. So it just sits. I see many good prices for them used. I rented a U-haul truck, cost me about $40 to get it back home. Good luck and have fun. |
