I'm thinking of switching to T-mobile as my next carrier. I like my phone (unlocked GSM) but all the internet functions are locked-out with AT&T, plus I lose calls randomly for unknown reasons after 6-7 min of talk time.

I've had T-Mobile for YEARS and I love their service/price/network speed but their current phone selection has left me quite unimpressed

All the cell phone giants are now going to rape us on Data usage. I've been with AT&T since they got the IPhone. They always try to get me off unlimited data. They stopped offering that to new IPhone users. That's going to be Verizons cash cow too.

If you're say that Verizon doesn't offer unlimited an data plan
For now I believe that would be incorrect.

Data plans: Verizon offers unlimited iPhone data, at least for now - CSMonitor.com

My wife has a Blackberry with T-Mobile and what I love about it is
UMA. Just grab a WiFi hot spot sign in, and make free phone calls.
We have a less than desirable signal at home. So rather than trying
to find a window or some other unusual place to make a phone call
we just sign into our network and wala free calls from home.

AT&T doesn't offer it. That's what I said. If you currently have it, and want to Tether, you must drop off of unlimited data. That's why I Jail broke my IPhone 4 and can tether and keep my unlimited data.

From what I can find on the internet, T-mobile uses the 1900 MHz band and 1700/2100 MHz for 3G.

My Nokia 7230 is pretty flexible. Runs on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and 3G on 900/2100/1900 MHz. I'd obviously try it out at the store first (borrowing an Associate's SIM card and plugging it into mine).
