Spinning Vinyl again

Good friday to Ya all

Finally got the sound room configured, turntable set up, amp reconnected.
Turned on the HHB CD recorder put in the Migration CD an blew myself out of the room.
I had forgotten what the B&K 4420 and big JBL's sounded like. I had to turn things way down.

Now I'm Spinning "Gene Harris" album "In a Special Way"
Just plowing my way thru some of my out of print Vinyl.
YouTube - Gene Harris - Theme for Relana

Time for a bottle of red and listening ears......

You got that right. Too bad I got no red but white will do. Headed to the store in a few.
In the mean time an all time classic deserves a spin.

QwkAg,
I am envious...my vinyl is now our kids' collection(s), not that they ever spin them.
I do have my 45 rpm collection from my distant ute.

I still love my 26 yr old 5' tall Polks, driven by a dedicated bigazz NAD amp...
Nice tunes by the bye.

Vino tinto or vino blanco? Should be here: we have cases of both, all top shelf.
GL, mD

Love the Nelson track...

Since you're sharing...here's a neat function i use when chillaxin' with the Missus. You can actually loop this Nelson track at this site: Loop YouTube video - Enter the youtube video ID tags on the right and select desired loop.

For some nice background/padding for the tunes, run this: RainyMood.com - Relaxation

Here's a sampler: Turnabout Jazz Soul - The Fragrance of Dark Coffee

Enjoy

MD.
It's an established fact that "NOBODY" touches my records
least of all kids...... lol

I got a gaggle of 45s also but most of them are in my iTunes library these days.
much better imo... No scratches

chilliwilli

Thanks for the suggestions.....
Rainymood? it's pouring outside as we speak but alas we can't hear it
unless we open a window and it's too cold right now. We have great affection
for Pandora.

Sounds good, B. (Pun intended.) How about a photo of your "sound cave"?

Nothing special here but a work in progress.

And now, For our enjoyment the recording that has proven to be the jazz standard used to measure the quality of many sound systems. I bought this very recording the year it came out.

Great song. I clicked and listened. I don't know much about jazz but did spend quite a bit of time at a jazz bar with live music when a friend of mine was a bartender there. I just hung out and took in the music and the vibe.

Jazz has been called "America’s Classical Music" and America's only true art form. It has been and will alway be my first choice in music. The reason is as follows.......

Perhaps the most important and most difficult element to master (many, many players, in fact the great majority, spend their lives working and developing this aspect of their playing) is improvisation. Again, simply put, this is the jazz players ability to instantaneously compose, edit, revise and perform. It is the single, most important element by which jazz players are judged and by which they establish their claim to immortality. It is an incredibly complex procedure that encompasses every element of not only jazz but of music itself. It is what makes jazz, jazz. Again, jazz is not the only music to use improvisation, but it uses it to an extent far greater than any other style of music. Through improvisation, the individual player expresses himself/herself at that very moment. P&G you should buy a copy. Find a very quiet place to listen, put it on and just listen.

Interesting history. YouTube - Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue / Made In Heaven [pt I]
