GMail doubles its storage for us.
Anyone want a GMail invite? I have a bunch. (Thanks to SuperGreg who hooked me up in the first place.) |

I suspect Google did this in response to SBC Yahoo's announcement on March 23, 2005 that its customers (both DSL and Dial-up) would be given 2 GB of storage in their main account and each of their 10 available sub-accounts, giving each customer account a total potential storgage capacity of 22 GB. The 2 GB size was previously only available on the main account.
Competition is a definately a good thing for the consumer

Yup!
Now, Google (and Yahoo, for that matter) can sift through 2Gigs of email in your Inbox -- information with which they can "market" to you, and/or sell to other people so that THEY can market to you. GMail's search function works well because it is reading EVERY word in every email you receive or send. I have been offered Gmail accounts several times, but I continue to decline it. No, thanks.
