Angry Someone popped the driver's door lock and stole the X5!!!

Went to a conference in Anaheim and coming back to the parking lot, I thought I was going crazy and couldn't find the car.

Finally, I found my parking space and all that was left was my driver's lock cylinder lying on the ground. Looks like they used a screwdriver and pry it open.

My worst fears have come true and the X5 is gone.

Of course the parking place assumes no liability (would have to ask PNG about this one) and at this rate, not sure how much money my auto insurance will reimburse me.

Anyone who ever had their car broken into or keyed, I'll tell you....having it stolen is the worst feeling.

If the cops ever find it, it'll probably be stripped and I won't want it back.

This really sucks!

Charles, I hope you're not joking because April Fool's Day is almost over and such a late joke is not allowed. You should have posted it this morning. If you are serious, that is terrible news. Those poor thieves don't know that they stole an X5 with the most miles (115,000?) on it of any.

Okay, seriously, that sucks man. I've heard of many lock pop break-ins but not an outright theft. How do you think they got it started? I think that you're SOL on the parking place taking any responsibility but then again, I'm not an expert. I'd just go through your insurance company.

Charles,

I can't begin to tell you how badly I feel for you right now. Hopefully it was just a teenage "joy ride" and they'll find it intact with only a few more miles on the clock. But since the thieves knew enough to pop the lock cylinder, my fear it that you we dealing with someone a bit more experienced at this.

When the insurance company calls, I'd recommend the "don't ask don't tell" on the mileage. Don't lie to them, but don't offer up more than they need to know.

Perhaps this is just a sign that a new 4.8is was your destiny

Good luck, my friend, and keep us posted.

Jeff

Hey, Doc...what a sick, empty feeling that must be.
Wonder "how" the thugs got it started? I didn't think
it was that vulnerable, starting-wise, to joy riders, or
even semi-pros.

If I was fooking KingoftheUSA, I'd have the punqueazz
bastards hung on Fri eve pay TV, (after a 5 min trial in
deference to PNG&Verbal, lol!).

You do Not want that car found/back...
GL,md

PS: if that was an April Fool's joke, we are sending the
remnants of the SLA over to your house for an "instructional".

Yikes. That's terrible.
Good luck with the insurance, I hope you get enough reimbursement to score a 4.8.
