Bit by a poisonous spider!

Hey guys,

Two weeks ago, I borrowed a skid steer (a smaller piece of heavy equipment) from the proto-type fit up devision, from work. I got it to clear a little pee-wee style motocross track for my 6 year old son and I to ride on. Well at some point during using the skid steer, I was bit by some type of insect. I don't know for sure, as I did not see it, just felt it.

The following day, (Monday) I looked where I felt that bit, be hind my knee.... my knee pit, if you will.

8:00 am Monday morning.

So I went to the doctor to see what to do. My doc thought it was a scratch that was infected cut. I didn't agree, but who am I to say diffrent? He gave my antibiotics and sent me on my way.

The next morning, my entire leg hurt like no other. And the wound... Was much worse.

The doctor this time sent me to the ER immediately!
The ER traced the infected area, ran a boat load of blood test, and told me if my morning it swells, or red crosses that line, come back ASAP.

The next morning (now 36 hours later) it was worse!

That ^ is not fluid filled. It's like puffy dead tissue. They had recieved the blood results back by now and told me that all staff infection results were negitive. I was also tested for MRSA, lymes deisses, and a bunch of other stuff I can not pronounce, or remember. lol.

By this time I was imited to the hospital, and was pumped up with all sorts of IV antibiotics, meds and who knows what. They continued to test me for everything under the sun to try and figure out what it was.

They said there is no test for a spider bite. And there is no antidote for spider bits, like there is for snake bits. So the method is to test for everything and find out what it isn't, to narrow it down. Well all of my results came back negitive. And it wasn't getting better. (but not worse either)

So FINALLY, they opted to cut it outta my leg. (which is what I wanted them to do in the begining.

^ that sugrery was last week. And I am healing up fine now. lol, I waited to share this..... I didnt want the last paragraph to read "so they had to cut my leg off" lol ! All is good now, and I can get back to cleaning my wheels! lol

This is my guess too! And yes it hurt like a mofo! It acked and throbbed the first day, but the following days, I was VERY, VERY uncomfortable.

Not cutting was the smart move, in spite of what you thought the doctor should have done. Surgery has never been proven to be curative in this situation.

Necronomicon ex Mortis, The Book of the dead. Bound in human flesh and inked in blood, this ancient Sumerian text contained bizarre burial rites, funerary incantations and demon resurrection passages. It was never meant for the world of the living. The book awoke something dark in the woods. It took Linda, and then it came for me. It got into my hand and it went bad, so I lopped it off at the wrist.
First thing I thought.

Sucks bro... got Staph while working in Georgia/Russia once. I feel your pain.

Ouch! That looks painful, especially in the bend of your knee. Hopefully any scarring won't inhibit your range of motion. Get well soon!

Thanks for the support guys! They decided not to stitch it up so it wouldn't restrict my range.

@ J.Belnnap...
