That's hilarious. It's an E60. It has run flat tires. It didn't come with a jack. And that means that the owner would not reasonably know how to use one, even if he wasn't in shock.

Maybe they should just have called BMW Assist and waited for help?

Good job to those who pitched in.

Too much faith is put on those runflats .
a good case for having a jack .
call BMW assist in a snowstorm and see how many days you have to wait for assistance .
the joke is on BMW .
I would never be without a jack .

maybe the biker can sue BMW because he had to wait so long for rescue because they did not supply a jack .

Never had a problem with my multiple sets of runflats.

I have a jack, but keep it at home in the garage for changing winter wheels.

Only time we called BMW Assist they were there in under 30 minutes. He changed a wheel (non run flat) in a torrential downpour, and then followed my wife to the tire store with the flat tire so that they didn't have to put the wet wheel in the trunk and get everything wet. Good guy.

Of course, these days, we could just drive to the tire store on our run flat tire. Much easier.

And if people have proper winter tires, not no-season tires, they are far less likely to have to call BMW Assist.

Maybe the BMW driver could sue the biker for trying to steal his catalytic converter.

That is awesome...and while we're joking about it, sadly there have been situations like this where bystanders helped but were instead sued. I hope this guy recovers safely.
