in fact, my whole crew is going to get karts because it is cheaper then the big track, much lower risk, and there is plenty of competition available...
You betcha it's cheaper. You definitely know that. What kind of karts are you guys getting? I'm going out with SSC Racing and if I bought a kart would more than likely go with them because of the hookup. Hmmm. Will a kart fit in the back of the X5???

they are closer to 150 lbs, and about 4 ft long. with the rears folded, you can get it in the back i believe. but they are dirty too so its best to get a trailer. even one of those small folding trailers will do just fine. thats what i would do if i were you.. $150 trailer and no tags required for it....

as for kart, i'm looking at the 125cc standard setup. i don't want a shifter kart. those are for people who mask bad driving with downshifting to save their butts. i'm not getting a TAG (touch and go) either. if i'm gonna stall, then i deserve to push the kart all the way back to the pits for a restart. i'm looking possibly birel. new they are about 4k-6k. used, 1500-2500 depending on what options they have...

the standard 125cc kart is what all the F1 pros started with... master that and your racecraft will increase 10 fold, guaranteed. btw, this is where you truly learn car rotation, and i'm not talking about lifting off the throttle to rotate either...

Anyone interested in Karting should check out www.ekartingnews.com

I personally like the tag classs the best. I have a TonyKart/Rotax and can say that the engine is the best tag engine out there. Very low maintenance and unbelivable 50 hours before overhaul.

Out here in PHX the local track is PKRA.com
