Got my XBOX 360 Premium...

If anyone is still looking for one at retail let me know. My local store has received over 30 each.

It's only a matter of time until they are everywhere

I heard that Halo3 was going to drop the same day as PS3.

How many people are buying both? I want to get one of them but can't decide on which. I wanted to get an XboX 360 just because they were impossible to get and now I am not sure if I should, the price is a bit steep for just the core and no games.
Can Sony stand up to Microsoft and have a better system? we'll soon find out.

It depends on the games.
I have (had.. it got fried when I was replacing the mod chip) an Xbox with lots (about 80 or so) games. But other than multiplayer Halo1 or Halo2 the entire system sucked and lacked 'fun'. Sure Project Gothm Racing1 and 2 were awesome, but they failed to keep me interested. After you get through a lot of the races (which I'll admit, were fun while they lasted) the allure of GranTurismo was irresistable.

So a few weeks after my Xbox stopped working, I got a PS2. The very first game I got for it was GranTurismo4. It's the only game I play on it but my brother has another 20 games or so he loves to play on it. Various crap like Prince of Persia, NBA games (he's a basketball freak) and what not.

To me, the only thing attracting me to the Xbox360 is the possibility of turning it into a media center like my Xbox. I was able to lug the unit upstairs and downstairs and take an entire library of movies, music, and games with me. The PS2 only does games (I haven't really taken the time to see if the movies bit is possible.)

The really cool thing about all of this is that the gamer always benefits. The more real competition there is in the market, the better products will be. I haven't had a Nintendo product since the orginal NES, so I'm also curious how the Nintendo Revolution will fair seeing how the company's executives have totally focused on the gaming experience rather than the graphics, sound, or anything else that the other guys (Microsoft and Sony) stress.

I'll probably order an Xbox360 once the second generation of mod chips are out. I don't think I want to go through the envy of having the first generation mod chips and a few weeks later learning there is another hundred things I can do.. only if I had a newer mod chip.

Well if you're a spec type of gamer...the PS3 wins hands down. I think I more excited that they chose to go with the Blueray drive especially because now I'm a HDTV addict!! But of course I'm a Halo addict too!!! DOHHH!! Check out this link....CNET compared the 2 earlier: http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-3000_7-6227319.html
