Thumbs up Pics From Our View...

Been a month since pics, and the Fall has come and gone; bare bones now,up here at 5,000 ft. We have had a couple of snows, but I still manage to get down the Mtn to chase the ball a few days a week. It has been a spectacular autumn: best in the 11 years we have lived here on the Mtn. Some recent pics, with a replacement/new lens: Canon IS 15-85mm, on a crop sensor old Canon 40D. Most shot in the wide to med zoom range, and a little LR to clean them up. Thanks for looking!
GL, mD

Sunrise peaking over Mt Pisgah:

5 mins later, sun is up and a nice cloud ray shot. Mt Pisgah center left, and The Cold Mtn on right:

VetteVert sitting in driveway. We had just gotten in the night before from a road trip and parked it. Overnight snow, followed by 4 more inches later on. It wasn't a happy Vette, lol!

Looking down our mtn toward our club, Laurel Ridge CC. Snow on us, still Autumn down below:

Frosty tele shot across the Valley, with Wolfpen Mtn looking chillyfookinwilly:

Remarkable sunrise. I was reluctant to 'keep it' as it looks so fake, overdone, etc. I even 'rolled back' the color in LR to make it look less schmaltzy...it is just the occasional magic of photons hitting the sensor.

Great pics, MD, as always.

The Vette 'vert looks forlorn. Lonely. Perhaps it is dreaming of another epic road trip?

Those of y'all who haven't visited WNC, it's definitely worth a trip. The scenery is gorgeous and seems to go on forever. I haven't been down to where mD is, but I frequent Asheville, Hendersonville, and Brevard and it's just an awesome place to be if you're into the outdoors. Transylvania County has numerous waterfalls and driving along the valley is relaxing and scenic. They actually filmed a lot of Hunger Games in and around Dupont State Forest.

I'm in that area every weekend when I'm not in Raleigh or CLT. (and that's also where I fill up my car)

Nice pics, mD. The VetteVert is sneaking south to the FL residence, right?

Thanks for all the looks and comments!

-JCL: the Vette is washed and back in the garage. V got to have her Tucson in there, while we did a long weekend trip, lol! I told her car not to get used to it. I would do another 2-3 months 'out on the road', in that car, in a heartbeat; the CEO not so much. Her idea is to fly to Denver or... rent a car and drive around for a month. Pretty good idea. Maybe in '14, and have to find a rental I can cross the US/CDA border with, as the Kootenays/Banff/Jasper area require a 2nd trip sometime, imo.

-nocom: that was a slip and we didn't expect snow when we rolled in and parked it, out. It's a 10 1/2 yr old car, so I don't wring hands over it...fun the next day trying to manuver it on the driveway in 5 inches of snow. The Traction Control gave up, and I was spinning/sliding like I was on a plastic sled, lol! Summer tars don't make it in snow/ice...

-haigha: probably. We take two cars, as we have too much stuff. The X may sit/sleep again. Good to read you...long time.
Thanks again, maties...just like to share the view(s).
