New York Members/Residents

Greetings all,

Has any NYS/NYC resident ever filed a claim against the State or City for damages to your vehicle due to roads condition? If so, can someone point me in the right direction.

This past Sunday I went over a pothole, that I swear was not visible at all until you're right up on it and in my case hard to avoid with 315 wide tires in the back. Pothole caused this:

These shock mounts are fairly new (December 2012). Lucky me, I had a spare at home and was able to install and re-align the vehicle on Sunday. I will also be contacting the online supplier where I purchased the part to try and file a claim because I don't think this part should be failing this quickly, but then again I did hit a pothole.

Car thieves in NYC has gone down tremendously, but now you gotta watch out for the fooking roads.

Dang! I know NYC has some killer potholes but still.... I hope you get a refund from the vendor. I think that would be easier than trying to pry the money from the gub'ment.

The vendor did right by me and gave me a refund due to a manufacturer defect on the part. I have heard from a few people that getting the city to pay up will never happen.
