History Channel Star Trek Special....what did you think?

Anyone else catch the "Secrets of the Universe" special? I know it wasn't anything groundbreaking; and for the most part was done in laymen terms....nonetheless I thought it was a nice change from all the other crap that airs these days on the tube!

a good sci-fi book (storyline) is always about the human interaction... it just places the human traits in super artificial environment, and exploits them... but that applies to any good book - classics are classics, because the emotions, the love, anger, hatred are same from ancients greeks to supermodern star trekkers... issak asimov, ray bradberry, arthur c. clark, jules vernes, herbert wells, strugatski brothers (they wrote and published about pandora planet, populated with blue, giant humanoids in harmony with nature back in mid fifties), stanislav lemm, karel chapek... a good sci-fi writer will not break the laws of physics, just bend them a bit and still write about humans...

i watched the Darkness, it has the elements of the golden knife with sculpted handle - given upon a contact to undeveloped society it serves the utility purpose of a knife, given to contemporary to us society, serves its weight in gold, given to super developed society, serves as an object of art... same with the movie - of course it had the story line going along with the rest of treks, also had nice visuals and techno things...

but i liked the message, that was better pronounced than in the other trek movies - one should protect the family, the friends... even the evil guy was protecting his family...
