CNBC had a small segment about Lexus vs BMW a few days a ago. Basically they were saying that Lexus is changing its focus from competing with Benz to the BMWs Ultimate Driving Machine. I think its obvious when you look at the IS350. Its compared to the 3 but rarely ever to the C klass.

Yes and they're bring out all the gadgets in their flagship. Get this this baby (LS460) can literaly park itself. To quote: "It's an automated system where you can place the car in a certain position and engage it." Ok, I'd like to see this.

Also its 19-speaker surround-sound system can store 4000 songs.

I had previously owned LS400 - conservative, soft, powerful and quiet sedan. Looks like these guys are making a steady progress. I would love to see it in person, but honestly, I am impressed with this presentation of new LS460L

I read about auto-car park on Acura board a while ago. They have lot of cars in Japan which have had this feature for a while. Very cool feature. Can't beat Japanese when it comes to electronics. On my CEO's new Acura RL, I love the in-dash 6-disc changer with DVD-audio and I have MP3 songs on DVD discs and they display the tags on NaV screen. And the GPS controlled air conditioning and the audio pilot.

Lexus- the Lenny Kravitz of automakers. Like Lenny is derivative of the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, Lexus first copied the MB S class for the first gen LS, now they are mimicing the E60 for the latest LS. Look at the rear pic, as Bavarian pointed out, and the profile pic. Nearly identical silhouette.

That said, if you're gonna copy something, copy a Rembrandt, not a finger-paintin. Good on them for recognizing the best design.
