Granted it's a glorified nissan with modifications, but it's hard to swallow spending so much on a car that isn't going to throw you back in the seat (with exception to the S55 and E55 of course). Plus, insurance for a 23 year old on an E55 is pretty high

I looked into keeping the X5 and getting a 01-03 porsche turbo cabrio as well.. I think I am having a quarter life crisis
Well if you want is performance, then you should pick up a Subaru WRX STi, and mod that. I think you will even beat your current G35 setup. I was just mentioning cars like the S500 Sport and such because I personally value it a lot of a large car can do 60MPH in about 6 seconds, yet pamper you with all the luxury items you can think of. But some people only appreciate performance, and don't care if they have 14-speaker audio, or a 4-speaker. Then there are ones that like luxury, but don't care about numbers - Cadillac buyers.

I guess to each his own.

very very true.. and I am well past the performance over function stage in my life (already). I had a 400+whp nissan maxima before the G35 and that car had so many issues and reliability problems. I am all about the performance and luxury aspect, just not sure if I am ready to make the MB plunge; I think I'd look at an M3/911 first.

As you said though, different strokes for different folks.

Keep the X till you know what the next X5 is gonna be like. Sell the G35 if you're getting bored with it and look at used 911's. This is only one option, there are soo many at the price range you're looking at.

btw, how fast is your G35?

Fast? 0-60? Couldn't tell you? 0-100? No idea.. put down 381whp and 330tq. Fast enough to beat S500's, 911's and M3's.

I like the idea of keeping the X and getting a 911 Turbo, just not sure how high the insurance costs will go with that route.

Welcome, most of the guys here have amazing knowledge concerning the X5 I love just reading and learning but once in a while, I'll put in a comment.

Your Nissan is quite a machine. Outside mods are impressive, I'd love to find out the performance details. Come on, I'm sure you've timed that baby on at least a 0-60 stretch I just test drove an 06 911S and that baby's got some "UMPH". So if your G beats it, I'm impressed

Before buying my X (2005 4.4 Sport, very fully loaded ) I had a highly tuned (Stienmentz) Opel Vectra 3.2 V6 (Euro Spec). Thing is, once I got into the X, I sold the opel cause I stopped driving the Vectra.

I'm just a bit confused with your comments and curious why you got a 6 yr old X instead of a 06' RR Sport Arden's

Oh yeah, pics, pics and more pics needed

I'll see what I can do on some 0-60 times in the G35 and work on washing the X and getting some decent pictures.

I came across a deal on the X that I couldn't pass up, I can probably sell it for more than I bought it for.. So it was just a quick buy and it was in fantastic shape. If I buy an RR Sport, the X5 will go...

RR is just another Ford as far as I'm concerned.
